Ergogames

Effective use: Fields of application for our Ergogames

Whether in a nursing home, at the office or at home: the requirements for modern health promotion are as diverse as its target groups. With our ergogames, we create low-threshold, digital exercise programmes that are fun and activate both body and mind at the same time. In this article, we show how our exergames can be used effectively in different areas of life – flexibly, motivatingly and scientifically sound.

1. Ergogames in elderly care

In an increasingly ageing society, promoting health and quality of life in old age is becoming more and more important. Exergames offer an innovative response to this challenge: interactive exercise games that activate both body and mind. At Ergofox, we have developed our own exergames – Ergogames – based on this concept. These are specially adapted to different target groups and areas of application, including seniors in elderly care.

Completed and evaluated projects with nursing staff show that exergames can make a valuable contribution to health promotion in everyday working life. The results are consistently positive. The combination of exercise, fun and low-threshold use is particularly convincing: exergames help to reduce physical strain, increase well-being and lower stress levels in everyday working life.

The next logical step was to integrate our ergogames directly into nursing homes. The aim is to actively involve not only nursing staff but also senior citizens in promoting their own health. Ergogames enable senior citizens to maintain and improve their mobility, coordination and cognitive performance in a playful way, regardless of previous sporting experience or physical limitations. Social aspects are not neglected either. Our Ergogames are specially designed to be easy to use and take individual performance into account through adjustable difficulty levels. Initial pilot projects to introduce our Ergogames in care facilities are currently getting off to a promising start.

2. Health days

Regular exercise is a key component of workplace health promotion. To actively support our employees in this regard, we offer an innovative concept for health days.

The Ergogames developed for this purpose comprise ten different games that specifically address different movement goals, from mobilisation and strengthening to coordination and endurance exercises. The games are designed to appeal to both individuals and teams: employees can compete alone, together or against each other.

A major advantage is that only a single device with an integrated camera is required to set up Ergogames. No additional hardware or complex installations are necessary, as Ergogames are web-based. The participants' movements are captured by the camera and evaluated in real time. This makes the games intuitive and accessible, even for people with no previous sporting experience.

A ranking system can be integrated if desired. This gives participants additional incentives to compete with each other, motivate each other and improve their own results. Health days with Ergogames offer companies a novel, uncomplicated way to promote exercise and health awareness in the workplace with a flexible and fun concept.

3. Exergaming at Home

Studies show that the daily lives of many people, especially young adults, are often characterised by a lack of exercise, stress and other health issues. At the same time, there is a declining willingness to participate in traditional sports activities. This is exactly where our Ergogames come in: they combine exercise with digital entertainment and enable flexible, motivating training anytime, anywhere.

With the digital City Hopper prevention course, we offer an innovative new concept: a game-based health course that the whole family can participate in.

What is City Hopper?
City Hopper is an eight-week online prevention course that combines exercise and playful learning. Week after week, you travel virtually through Europe – with varied knowledge units, short warm-up exercises in the so-called ‘Ergogym’ and interactive movement games.

• Each session lasts approx. 45-50 minutes and consists of a knowledge block and four ergogames
• Focus on strength training: The focus is on strength. The muscle group being trained is changed every two weeks, so that a holistic workout is achieved at the end
• Flexibility: Short game sessions allow for flexible training times and can be combined individually.
• Technically uncomplicated: Our ergogames work with any conventional laptop, tablet and computer with a camera – no additional hardware is required.

Tested by experts:

City Hopper is a prevention course certified by the Central Prevention Agency in accordance with §20 SGB V and is based on current scientific findings and results from evaluation projects!

With our City Hopper prevention course, we at ergofox are taking an innovative approach that specifically combines exercise and playful elements. This enables us to integrate health into everyday life in a motivating way and make modern health promotion concepts easily accessible. By combining physical activity and play, we create a low-threshold offering that not only promotes exercise but also inspires enthusiasm.
